On the first of our “dress for Rotary” days on the first meeting each month, President John told us how everyone looked really good and also told us we might be asked to assimilate some smaller Rotary clubs who are having trouble in the pandemic. John also noted that our Zoom meetings are being attended by only about half of our membership and we need to work on ways to make meetings more interesting and enjoyable – he asked everyone to give him ideas we may want to try. As “bell ringing elf” Casey Lindsay informed us, we’re ringing for Salvation Army Red Kettles on Saturday Dec. 19th – he’ll send out a message with details on signing up. Janet Barnett introduced Mitch Opalski to speak to us about his company, Synergy Home Care and Hospice and how they are helping to care for our loved ones in this pandemic. We also heard from Alisha Ault, the peace scholar we are sponsoring in her development studies at the Institute of Development Studies in the UK. Sir Stuart was on the Zoom call from his home in the UK and asked to contact her so he might be able to show her some of the beautiful areas nearby in the UK. Our speaker on Dec. 8 will be Ambassador Jim Gilmore.
